Chamadumpala Mudda Kura / Taro Root Curry

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Chamadumpalu
  • 1 Pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1 sp Red chilli powder
  • 1 sp Tamarind pulp
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/4 sp Urad Dal
  • 2 Red Chillies crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 4 sp oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and pressure cook chamadumpalu for 2 whistles.
  2. Let it cool, drain the water and remove the skin & keep aside.
  3. Now heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add curry leaves and tamarind pulp.
  4. Cook for 30 secs, then add chamadumpalu & mix well.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 mins on low flame.
  7. After that chamadupala mudda kura is ready.
  8. Turn of the heat and transfer into a serving bowl.
  9. Serve hot with steamed white rice and ghee.
