Masala Curry Powder

Yield: 1 cup


  • 1/2 cup Chana Dal
  • 1/2 cup Urad Dal
  • 2 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 2 sp grated Coconut
  • 5 Red Chillies
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 4 Cardamom
  • 5 Cloves
  • 2 tsp Oil


  1. Heat 1 sp oil in a frying pan add chana dal, urad dal, coriander seeds & fry them for 5 mins.
  2. Then add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and fry them on low flame until they turn golden brown in color, transfer them onto a plate.
  3. Add remaining oil to the same pan add red chillies and fry, now add grated coconut and stir-fry for 30 secs and turn off the flame.
  4. Let it cool for couple of mins then grind them to a coarse powder, masala curry powder is ready, store in an airtight container.
