Bottle Gourd Curry With Toor Dal / Sorakaya Kandipappu Podi Kura

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped Bottle Gourd/Lauki
  • 1/4 cup Toor Dal
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel bottle gourd and cut into small pieces, wash and half cook toor dal, strain them and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and sorakaya mukkalu & stir.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, salt and stir, sprinkle a little water and cook with a lid.
  4. Once cooked add toor dal, red chilli powder and mix well. Cook on low flame for a couple of mins with out lid.
  5. After that turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now sorkaya kandipappu podi kura is ready to serve. It is a side dish for sambar.
