Gongura Pachadi / Red Sorrel Leaves Chutney

  • 1 cup Gongura Leaves/Sorrel Leaves
  • 6 Green Chillies
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste


  1. Clean, wash sorrel leaves and cook along with green chillies and with enough water. Once done remove from the heat and allow it to cool.
  2. First grind green chillies with salt & turmeric powder, then add cooked sorrel leaves to it and blend it again.
  3. Next add chopped onions and blend it coarsely, do not blend it finely, when done transfer into a serving bowl.
  4. Now cooked gongura pachadi is ready, serve with steamed white rice or rotis.
