Tomato Poha / Poha With Tomato Puree

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Atukulu/Thick Poha/Beaten Rice
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 2 sp Peanuts
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash well, soak poha for 2 mins, then squeezed them and keep aside.
  2. Grind 2 tomatoes into puree and keep aside, dry roast peanuts & remove the skin from them.
  3. Heat oil in pan add popu ingredients & fry, once done add onion, green chilli pieces, curry leaves and saute them.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 min on low flame, then add tomato puree & stir well. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook for a couple of minutes on low flame
  5. Add poha and mix well, cook with cover on low flame for 2 mins. Now Tomato Poha is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
