Pumpkin Dal / Gummadikaya Tiyya Pappu

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pumpkin Pieces
  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash peel pumpkin and cut into small pieces.
  2. Pressure cook toor dal, pumpkin pieces and green chilli pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry for a min.
  4. When they splutter add curry leaves and cooked dal mix.
  5. Next add salt, turmeric powder and stir well.
  6. Allow it to cook for few mins & transfer into a serving bowl.
  7. Gummadikaya tiyya pappu is ready to serve.
  8. It goes very well with rice or roti.
