Maida Boondi Laddu / All Purpose Flour Laddu

  • 1 cup Maida/All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 pinch Pacha karpooram
  • 1/2 sp Elaichi Powder
  • few Raisins
  • Oil for deep fry


  1. In a bowl add all purpose flour mix with enough water & make thick dosa batter without lumps.
  2. Heat oil in a wide pan, when hot pour the batter over a ladle with small round holes.
  3. Tap it gently with a spoon, so that small balls of the batter fall into the oil.
  4. Don't fry them crispy, take them out when they are soft and keep them side.
  5. Let it cool for some time, once cooled grind the fried boondi slightly.
  6. Boil sugar and water in a heavy bottomed pan and make syrup like 'undapakam'.
  7. Add pacha karpooram, elaichi powder & ground boondi to the syrup & mix well.
  8. Let it cool for some time, then make round balls or laddus with raisins.
  9. Maida boondi laddus are ready to serve and allow them to dry, store them in an airtight container.
