Karivepaku Podi / Curry Leaves Powder 2nd Method

Serving Size: 1 cup full


  • 1 cup Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Urad Dal
  • 1 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2" Tamarind Flake
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 4 Red Chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Heat oil in a pan add urad dal & fry for 2 mins.
  2. Next add cumin seeds, red chillies and fry until done.
  3. Lastly add curry leaves and fry for couple of mins.
  4. Turn off the flame and let it cool for some time.
  5. Grind all the ingredients into a coarse powder.
  6. Karivepaku podi is ready to serve.
  7. Serve with rice, idly, dosa, pongal etc.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
