White Pumpkin Burfi / Ash Gourd Burfi

  • 1 cup Budida Gummadikaya turumu
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 21/2 cup Water
  • 3 sp Ghee
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder


  1. Cut and peel the white pumpkin, remove the seeds then grate the flesh and squeeze out the water from the grated white pumpkin.
  2. Heat 2 sp ghee add grated white pumpkin and fry until the raw smell goes.
  3. Add water and cook for about 10 to 15 mins then add sugar & stir it constantly.
  4. Cook it for 7 to 8 mins on medium flame, add elaichi powder and stir, remove from fire when the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Apply 1 sp ghee to a plate and spread the cooked pumpkin burfi evenly, let it leave for some time and cut it into desired pieces.
  6. Now white pumpkin burfi is ready to serve and them store in an airtight container.
