Tomato Dal With Moong Dal

  • 1 cup Moong Dal
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 3 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp Coriander Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Wash moong dal and cook on stove top or pressure cook & keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan popu ingredients & fry, when done add curry leaves, chopped green chillies, ginger garlic paste & stir for a minute next add chopped tomatoes.
  3. Add all the powders, salt and mix well, cover and cook until soft, then add in cooked dal & mix well add little water if required.
  4. Let it cook for 2 or 3 minutes & turn off the flame, transfer into a serving bowl.
  5. Tomato dal is ready, garnish with coriander leaves and serve, serve hot with rice or roti.
