Tomato Rice 2nd Method

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Potato chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • fistful Green Peas
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil
  • 13/4 cup Water


  1. Wash and soak rice for 15 mins and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs.
  3. Then add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves and fry till soft.
  4. Now add in ginger garlic paste and stir, add chopped potato and green peas & mix well.
  5. Add tomato pieces, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander leaves and stir.
  6. Let it cook for a couple of mins then add it to soaked rice bowl & pressure cook.
  7. When done remove the lid and serve hot with onion raitha.
