Bangalore Vankaya Tomato Curry

  • 1 Seema vankaya
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Wash, peel seema vankaya and cut into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  3. When done add green chillies, onion, curry leaves and stir.
  4. Fry them till they become transparent add chopped tomato pieces and mix well.
  5. Cook on medium heat till tomatoes are soft then add chow chow pieces & stir well.
  6. Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Sprinkle little water and cook with cover.
  7. Once done add red chilli powder and stir, let it cook for one more min & turn off the heat.
  8. Seema vankaya kura is ready, to serve, serve with rice and roti.
