Semiya Carrot Bath / Vermicelli Carrot Upma - Upma Recipes

  • 1 cup Semiya / Vermicelli
  • 2 nos Carrot grated
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • few Cashews
  • 1 sp Lemon Juice (optional)
  • 3 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil


  1. Boil water and add vermicelli / semiya, 1 sp oil, little salt and cook.
  2. After semiya is cooked strain and run cold water through it & keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add cashews & fry, remove from the pan and keep aside for garnish.
  4. Add popu ingredients and fry then add curry leaves, grated carrot and stir.
  5. Add turmeric powder, enough salt and mix well, let it cook for 4 or 5 mins on medium flame.
  6. Once done add boiled semiya and stir well, cook on low flame for couple of mins.
  7. Now semiya carrot bath is ready and remove from the flame.
  8. Now add lime juice and mix well, garnish with cashews and serve hot.
