Red Chilli Onion Chutney/Endumirchi Ullipaya Karam

  • 8 to 10 Dry Red Chillies
  • enough Salt
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 2 sp grated Jaggery (optional)
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Take a mixie jar and add red chillies, enough salt and grind into a coarse paste with 1/4 cup of water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add ground chutney and mix well.
  3. Add jaggery to it and stir, continue to cook for couple of minutes, then turn off the flame.
  4. Spicy endumirchi ullipaya karam is ready to serve, serve with tiffins or hot rice along with a dash of ghee.
