Allam Garelu / Minapa Vadalu / How to prepare Urad Dal Fritters With Ginger Flavor

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 2 sp chopped Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak urad dal, chana dal for 2 hours and grind into a coarse paste, then remove from the jar and place in a bowl. Grind ginger into a coarse paste along with green chillies.
  2. Add salt, ground paste, chopped curry leaves to ground urad dal paste & mix it very well.
  3. Make small balls from this mixture, flatten them slightly and shape into vadas, then gently drop the vadas into the hot oil.
  4. Deep fry them until golden brown in color and remove from the pan & place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Now allam garelu (without whole) are ready for naivedyam to Goddess Durga Devi.
