  • 1/2 cup dry Green Peas
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 1" Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 sp Oil
  • 2 sp Cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • For Paste :
  • 2 sp grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1 sp Poppy Seeds / Gasagasalu
  • 1 sp chopped Ginger
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 4 Garlic flakes
  • few Coriander Leaves


  1. Wash and soak green peas for 5 to 6 hours and pressure cook, meanwhile, grind above paste ingredients into a fine paste and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, hing, cinnamon, elaichi, cloves and fry for 30 secs, add onions and fry, when done add chopped tomatoes & fry until soft.
  3. Add turmeric powder, ground masala and cook for a couple of mins on low flame, now add the boiled peas along with water and mix it well & add red chilli powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Let it cook on medium flame until it comes into a thick gravy, lastly add cream, chopped coriander leaves & cook another 1 min, then remove from the heat.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves, now green peas kurma / gravy curry is ready to serve, serve with chapati or paratha.
