Kova Coconut Sweet Puri / Mawa Kobbari Sweet Puri - Diwali Recipes

  • 1 small cup Wheat Flour
  • 5 sp Powdered Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 sp Ghee
  • Oil for deep fry
  • For Stuffing :
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Khoya
  • 1/4 cup grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1/4 sp Elaichi Powder


  1. In a bowl mix the wheat flour with melted ghee, salt and mix well, add water and knead well to make a soft dough & keep aside for 15 mins.
  2. Combine coconut, sweet kova, elaichi powder in a small bowl and mix well, meanwhile, grind sugar along with 1 elaichi into a smooth powder.
  3. Knead the dough well and make it into small lime size balls and set aside, take a dough ball and roll it into a small puri, then place khoya mixture over it and seal the edges carefully.
  4. Roll the stuffed ball into a medium sized puri, do the same with the remaining dough balls and deep fry them in hot oil until light golden brown on both sides.
  5. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel & sprinkle powdered sugar on them, now khoya coconut sweet puris are ready and serve.
