Semiya Soya Palak Upma / Vermicelli Soya Spinach Upma

  • 1 small cup Semiya / Vermicelli
  • 1 cup chopped Spinach
  • 1/4 cup Soya Granules
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil


  1. Wash and soak soya granules in hot water for 10 mins and keep aside.
  2. In a bowl add 3 cups of water, little salt, 1 sp oil & allow it to boil, when it start boiling add the vermicelli and cook for 3 to 4 mins.
  3. Once semiya is cooked turn off the flame & pour into a strainer to drain water, pour cold water over it and keep aside for cool.
  4. Heat oil in pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped spinach and mix well.
  5. Let it cook for 2 to 3 mins, then add squeezed soya granules to it and stir-fry for 1 min, now add boiled semiya, salt and stir gently until the vermicelli mix completely.
  6. Then cover and cook another 1 min, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, semiya soya palak upma is ready to serve, serve hot with out chutney.
