Cabbage Carrot Rice / Patta Gobhi Carrot Rice

  • 11/2 cup cooked Rice/Leftover Rice
  • 1/2 cup grated Cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated Carrot
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/2 sp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp chopped Garlic
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs, then add chopped green chillies, garlic and fry for 30 secs.
  2. Add grated carrot, curry leaves and stir for 1 min on low flame, now add chopped cabbage, turmeric powder and mix well, sprinkle little water and cook with cover.
  3. Once done add cooked rice, salt and mix it well, lastly add pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves and stir well, continue to cook on low flame till the moisture evaporates.
  4. Now cabbage carrot rice is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with fresh curd/yogurt
