Raw Mango Sweet And Sour Chutney / Sweet & Spicy Mango Pickle

  • 3 nos Mangoes
  • 4 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 4 sp grated Jaggery
  • enough Salt
  • For Powder :
  • 1/2 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Methi Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Fennel Seeds/Sopu Ginjalu
  • For Popu :
  • 1 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies Crocked
  • 4-5 sp Oil


  1. Wash mangoes well and pat dry with a clean cloth, peel the mangoes & slice them into medium size pieces.
  2. Heat a pan add powder ingredients and dry roast till slightly brown, then remove from the pan, cool and grind into a coarse powder and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a khadai add mustard seeds, red chillies and fry, once done add chopped mango pieces and stir-fry for 1 min then add salt, turmeric powder & cook.
  4. Next pour 1/2 cup of water and allow it to cook on low flame until the mango pieces are soft.
  5. Now add in grated jaggery, red chilli powder, ground masala powder and mix very well and cook it for a couple of mins and then turn off the heat.
  6. Raw mango sweet and spicy chutney is ready, serve it with puri, chapati, allow it to cool and put it into a glass jar or other container & keep in the refrigerator.
