Adai Recipe – how to prepare Adai – South Indian Breakfast Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Chana Dal
  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal
  • 1/4 cup Toor Dal
  • 4 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing/Inguva
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for dosa

Instructions

  1. Wash and mix rice, dals together and soak in water for 3 hours, once done grind them into a coarse paste by adding enough water.
  2. Add hing, salt into it and mix well, now adai batter is ready, the batter should not need to be fermented.
  3. Heat a griddle with oil, when hot pour a ladle of batter over the griddle & spread it carefully with back of the ladle.
  4. Now apply 1 sp oil around the edges of the dosa and cook with a lid, once it's done, turn it to the other side, apply little oil and cook on low flame for 1 min.
  5. Repeat the same with remaining batter, now South Indian breakfast recipe adai is ready, serve hot with coconut chutney & allam chutney.
