Bread Upma - Kids Recipes - how to prepare Bread Upma

Ingredients

  • 6 Bread Slices
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 3 sp grated Carrot
  • 1 sp Lemon Juice(optional)
  • enough Salt
  • For Popu :
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • few Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • chopped Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Remove the edges of the bread slices and cut the slices into small cubes and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped green chilli and onions.
  3. When the onions are tender add chopped tomato and stir-cook on low flame for a min.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of water, enough salt, turmeric powder & bring it to a boil, cover with a lid and allow it to cook till the tomato becomes soft.
  5. Add in bread cubes and mix gently, then add grated carrot, coriander leaves and stir-fry for 1 min on low flame and then turn off the flame.
  6. Now bread upma is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with remaining grated carrot and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
  7. It's a kid's favorite dish, quick & easy to prepare and serve as a snack or a breakfast.
