Ullipaya Pulav / Onion Pulav - How to prepare Onion Pulav

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1" inch Cinnamon
  • 2 Elaichi Pods
  • 3 Cloves
  • few chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 10 mins and keep aside, heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala, cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs, then add chopped onion, green chillies and fry.
  2. Fry them till they turn light brown in color, now add rice, red chilli, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powders and stir-fry for 1 min on low flame.
  3. Transfer the whole content to a rice cooker bowl with 2 cups of water, enough salt and set to cook.
  4. When done add coriander leaves and mix well, now onion pulav is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with raita.
