Vermicelli Sweet Potato Pudding/Semiya Chilakada Dumpa Payasam-Fasting Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Semiya/Vermicelli
  • 1 small Sweet Potato/Chilakada Dumpa
  • 1 small cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • few Dry Fruits
  • 2 sp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Wash sweet potato/chilakada dumpa, peel and chop into small pieces and keep aside. Heat ghee in a bowl add dry fruits and stir-fry till light brown, then remove from the bowl and set aside.
  2. Add vermicelli to the same bowl and fry till done, then add in boiled water and cook for 1 min. Now add chopped sweet potato and cook on low flame, once the vermicelli, sweet potato become soft, then add sugar, elaichi powder & cook for 2 mins.
  3. Add in milk and mix well, let it cook for a couple of mins on low flame and turn off the heat. Transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with roasted dry fruits, now upvas/fasting recipe semiya, sweet potato payasam is ready.
