  • 1 small cup Toor Dal
  • 1 cup chopped Cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup chopped Mango Pieces
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Sambar Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 1 pinch Hingh
  • 2 sp Oil
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves


  1. Wash and soak toor dal for 10 mins, wash the cauliflower florets and soak for 15 mins in warm salt water, after that chop them into small pieces.
  2. In a bowl combine green chillies, mango pieces, chopped gobi and pressure cook vegetables and dal in two separate bowls, let it cool for some time then remove the lid and mash them well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, mashed dal & cauliflower mixture. Add in salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sambar powder and mix well
  4. Allow it to cook for 5-6 mins on medium flame, when done add chopped coriander leaves and stir. Now gobi mamidikaya pappu is ready, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with rice or roti.
