Yellow Cucumber / Dosakaya Gravy Curry For Puri

  • 1 small Yellow Cucumber/Dosakaya
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Besan/Gram Flour
  • 1/2 sp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Wash dosakaya peel, deseeded and cut into small pieces and keep aside. Heat oil in a small cooker add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped onion, green chllies and stir for 30 secs. Add chopped tomato, dosakaya pieces and stir.
  2. Now add turmeric powder, salt, sugar, 1 cup of water and mix well, close the lid and pressure cook for two whistles. Meanwhile mix besan with 1/4 cup of water and keep aside, once pressure is off, remove the lid.
  3. Then pour besan mixture and cook until the raw besan smell goes. Now dosakaya gravy curry is ready, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with puri.
