Basundi Recipe – How to make Basundi

  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 sp Elaichi Powder
  • few chopped Dry Fruits
  • 1 pinch Saffron


  1. Place the milk in a deep non-stick saucepan and bring to a boil & stirring continuously, after 20 mins the milk reduces to half of its original quantity.
  2. Once the milk reduces to half, then add sugar to it and boil until the sugar completely dissolves in the milk, now add elaichi powder and mix well.
  3. Turn off the flame and allow it to cool, once cooled place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour, now yummy yummy basundi is ready to serve.
  4. Before serving sprinkle chopped nuts and a few strands of saffron on top and serve chilled.
  5. Basundi recipe is a traditional Indian Desert made for festivals like Rakhi & Holi.
