Khoya Kachori / Mawa Kachori – Diwali Sweets

    For Dough :
  • 1 small cup All purpose Flour/Maida
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 sp Ghee
  • Oil for deep fry
  • For Stuffing :
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Kohya/Mawa/Kova
  • 2 sp chopped Dry Fruits
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • For Syrup :
  • 1 small cup Sugar
  • same cup Water
  • few Saffron Strands


  1. Take plain flour and add salt, ghee and mix together, then add enough water and make a soft dough & keep aside for 15 mins, meanwhile, in a small bowl combine above the stuffing ingredients and mix well & set aside.
  2. Mix well and divide the dough into 6 equal balls and keep aside, take one dough ball and flatten on the surface of your hand & place 2 sp of stuffing in the center and make into a ball. Press the ball with your palm gently. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, when hot deep fry the kachoris over medium heat until light golden brown and remove from the hot oil and drain well.
  4. Boil sugar with a cup of water in a bowl, stirring constantly until it comes one string consistency, then dip this fried kachoris in the sugar syrup one by one and let it cool.
  5. Now tasty tasty Diwali special recipe khoya/kova kachori is ready, garnish with chopped dry fruits, saffron threads and serve.
