Mixed Vegetable Sagu/Veg Sagu/Puri Sagu–How to make Veg Sagu recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Cauliflower Florets
  • 1/8 cup Green Peas
  • 1/4 cup chopped Potato
  • 1/4 cup chopped Carrot
  • 1/4 cup chopped Beans
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 sp Sugar
  • For Paste :
  • 2 sp Roasted Chana Dal
  • fistful Fresh Coconut Pieces
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Pepper Corns
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • few Coriander Leaves
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil
  • few chopped Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Cook all chopped vegetables, green peas with little salt until done and keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile, combine all paste ingredients and grind into a fine paste with enough water and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, green chillies, onion and fry for 1 min, then add ginger garlic paste and stir.
  4. Add tomato pieces and cook until soft, when done add ground paste, turmeric powder, salt and little sugar, mix well and cook for 2 mins on low-medium flame.
  5. Then add the boiled vegetables along with water and mix everything well, let it cook for a couple of mins, finally add chopped coriander leaves and mix, then turn off the flame.
  6. Now vegetable sagu/mixed veg sagu is ready, transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with puri or dosa.
