Spicy Coconut Powder With Fresh Coconut / Kobbari Karam With Pachi Kobbari

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated Fresh Coconut /Pachi Kobbari Turumu
  • 7 Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 inch Tamarind Flake
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add above ingredients (except coconut,salt) and fry until golden brown then remove from the pan.
  2. In the same pan add grated coconut and fry well till all the moisture is evaporated and turns light pink, then turn off the flame & allow it to cool.
  3. Once cooled grind them into a coarse powder with enough salt and transfer it to a bowl, now spicy coconut powder is ready.
  4. Serve with hot rice & ghee and also serve it with idli, dosa. It will stay fresh only two days.
