Gobi Dal / Cauliflower Pappu/How to prepare Cauliflower Dal–Dal recipes

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 1 cup Cauliflower Florets
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 sp Tamarind Pulp
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves


  1. Cut the cauliflower into small florets, wash well and soak them in salt ( little salt) water for 5 mins after that chop them into small pieces. Wash toor dal and add chopped cauliflower, tomato, onion, green chillies & pressure cook up to 3 whistles.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, garlic cloves and stir, then add in cooked cauliflower dal mixture, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tamarind pulp & mix well, add chopped coriander leaves and cook for a couple of mins and then turn off the flame.
  3. Now cauliflower dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice or roti.
