Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kodo Millet/Arikelu
  • 1/2 cup Moong Dal
  • 21/2 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Popu For Pongal :
  • 1 sp crushed Black Pepper
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 2 sp chopped Green Chillies
  • 2 sp chopped Ginger
  • 4 no Cashew Nuts
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Ghee
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Combine and wash the moong dal, millet and pressure cook with water and salt for 3 whistles. Once done remove from the flame and keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile, heat ghee nd oil in a small frying pan add cumin seeds, crushed black pepper and fry for 10 secs, then add the remaining ingredients to the pan and fry for a few secs. When done add it to cooked pongal and mix it well. Now healthy recipe kodo millet ven pongal is ready, serve hot with any pickle or powder.
