Bajra Flakes Upma / Pearl Millet Poha Upma / Sajja Atukula Upma - Millet Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bajra Flakes/Sajja Atukulu
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 no Potato peeled & chopped finely
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 sp Lemon Juice(optional)
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped onion and green chillies. Stir and cook for a while, then add potato cubes and mix well.
  2. Add salt, turmeric powder and mix, sprinkle little water and cook with cover on low flame for 5 mins or until done, then Add in bajra flakes and mix well, sprinkle little water and cook for 2 mins on low flame. Once done turn off the flame, add lemon juice and mix well, now healthy breakfast bajra flakes upma is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
