Cluster Beans Besan Fry/Gawar Ki Sabji/Goruchikkudu Besan Curry

  • 1 cup chopped Cluster Beans
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1" inch Tamarind Flake
  • 2 sp Besan/Gram Flour
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil


  1. Trim the edges of the cluster beans and break them into roughly 1 inch pieces. Wash chopped cluster beans/goruchikkudu and pressure cook with tamarind, turmeric powder and salt. Once done remove the lid and strain them. In the meantime, in small bowl mix besan, red chilli powder and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add curry leaves and stir, then add cooked cluster beans and stir-fry for a couple of mins on low heat. After that add besan mixture and mix everything well, continue cooking on low flame for 2 mins, now cluster beans besan curry is ready, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with steamed white rice.
