Papaya Halwa/Boppai Halwa-How to prepare Boppai Halwa

  • 1 cup Papaya paste
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Milk Powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
  • 1/4 sp Elaichi Powder
  • few chopped Dry Fruits


  1. Wash well papaya, peel the skin of papaya and cut it in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a spoon. Then chop into small pieces and then mash well into a smooth paste.
  2. Boil milk in a pan add papaya paste and mix well, let it boil till it becomes slightly thick then add sugar and cook on a medium flame for 2 mins or till the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Then add in elaichi powder, milk powder and mix well, keep stirring continuously. Now add ghee and stir well, allow it to cook on low heat till the ghee oozes.
  4. Then add chopped dry fruits and mix everything well. Turn off the flame & transfer into a serving bowl. Now mouth-watering dessert boppai halwa is ready, decorate with chopped nuts and serve cool or normal.
