Alu Buttermilk Stew / Potato Majjiga Pulusu / Bangaladumpa Kadhi - Kadhi Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped Potato
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 sp Besan / Gram Flour
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Coriander Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 sp chopped Ginger
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Place buttermilk In a bowl add besan, salt and all spices mix well and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add chopped potatoes and stir-fry for 3 mins or until half done, then remove from the pan.
  2. To the same pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, ginger, crushed garlic, curry leaves and fry for a while.
  3. Then pour the buttermilk mix & cook on medium flame for 2 mins, stirring continuously. Then add fried alu pieces and continue to cook for a couple of mins.
  4. Finally add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now potato buttermilk stew is ready, serve hot with steamed rice.
