Proso Millet Adai / Variga Rice Adai – How to make Proso Millet Adai – Millet Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Proso Millet Rice/Varigalu
- 2 sp Chana Dal
- 2 sp Urad Dal
- 2 sp Toor Dal
- 6 Red Chillies
- 1 pinch Hing/Inguva
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- chopped Curry Leaves
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil for dosa frying
Instructions
- Wash, soak the proso millet rice and dals together for 2 hours along with red chillies and keep aside.
- Once done grind them into a coarse paste by adding enough water and transfer to a mixing bowl. Then add remaining ingredients except oil and mix well, now proso millet adai batter is ready, the batter should not need to be fermented.
- Heat a griddle with little oil, when hot pour a ladle full of batter over the griddle and spread it carefully with back of the ladle. Now apply 1 sp oil around the edges of the dosa and cook with a lid, once it's done, turn it to the other side, apply little oil and cook on low flame for 1 min.
- Repeat the same with remaining batter, now South Indian healthy breakfast recipe proso millet adai is ready, serve hot with coconut chutney or allam chutney.
