Ingredients
- 1 cup Plain Idiyappam
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 2 Green Chillies chopped lenghwise
- 2 Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1/2 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp chopped Coriander Leaves
- 3 sp Oil
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves and fry.
Add turmeric powder, salt and saute till they become translucent. Then add ginger garlic paste to it and fry till the raw smell goes away.
Add in chopped tomatoes and cook for a couple of mins until they become soft. Add red chilli powder and cook.
Now add in plain idiyappam and mix until the idiyappam well coated evenly with the tomato masala, fry it for a while, finely add chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.
Turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now Tomato Idiyappam is ready to serve, serve it as a breakfast or as a light snack.
