Ingredients
- 1 small cup Dried Yellow Peas/Endu Batani
- 1 small cup Urad Dal
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 inch Ginger Piece chopped
- few Curry Leaves chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
Wash and soak the dried yellow peas for 6 hours or overnight in enough water. Wash and soak urad dal for 2 hours.
Grind chopped green chillies and chopped ginger into a coarse paste and set aside. Drain and grind the peas, urad dal into a coarse paste and transfer to a mixing bowl.
To this add ginger green chilli paste, salt, chopped curry leaves and mix everything well, if needed add a little water and mix well. Now the peas minapa vada batter is ready.
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat, once hot drop the prepared vada slowly into the hot oil. Fry them till light golden brown, then remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat the same process with the remaining batter. Now dried peas urad dal vada is ready. Serve hot with ginger chutney and a cup of coffee or tea.
