Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 2 sp Wheat Flour for dusting
  • 2 small Sweet Potatoes/Chilakada Dumpalu
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 inch Ginger Piece
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • chopped Coriander Leaves
  • enough Salt
  • 2 sp Oil for dough
  • 5 sp Oil for chapathi frying

 

Instructions

Wash well sweet potato/shakarkand and chop into big pieces and cook them, once done cool them completely. Once cooled remove the outer skin and mash well.

Blend green chillies, ginger into a coarse paste and keep aside. Place wheat flour in a bowl add mashed sweet potato paste,  ground ginger chilli paste, chopped coriander leaves, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Then add 2 sp oil, enough water and make it a soft dough, keep aside for 20 mins with cover.

Knead the dough well and make equal lemon sized balls and keep aside. Dip the dough ball in dry flour and place on a flat surface, then roll it into a chapathi.

Meanwhile, heat tawa over medium heat, add 1 sp oil on the tawa and coat the pan with oil, then place the raw sweet potato roti on the hot tawa and cook both sides with oil. Make the same process with the remaining dough balls.

Now sweet potato Paratha/chilakada dumpa roti is ready to serve, serve with fresh yogurt.
