Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated raw papaya/boppai turumu
  • 2 sp Moong Dal/Pesara Pappu
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

 

Instructions

Wash and soak moong dal for 10 min and keep aside. Wash well raw papaya, peel the skin of it and cut into half lengthwise. Then great with a grater and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and fry for a few secs,  then add in soaked moong dal and stir well.

Add 1/8 cup of water and cook it only soft, but it should not become over cooked.

Then add in grated papaya, salt, turmeric powder and mix well. Continue to cook for a couple of mins until done.

Finally add fresh grated coconut and mix everything well. Fry for a min on low flame, after that turn off the flame and transfer to a serving bowl. Now Boppai Turumu Kura/Grated Raw Papaya Curry is ready to serve with rice or roti.
