Kothimeera Karam / Coriander Leaves And Green Chilli Chutney – Chutney for South Indian Breakfast Recipes

Ingredients

  • 7-8 Green Chillies
  • Handful chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Marble size Tamarind
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • little Jaggery(optional)
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak tamarind in a small bowl and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, hing and fry, once done transfer to a bowl. Add chopped green chillies to the same pan and fry for a while. Let it cool for a couple of mins.
  2. Once cooled, grind them into a smooth paste along with the remaining ingredients with enough water. You can make the chutney thin or thick in consistency according to your choice. Now kothimeera karam is ready, transfer to a bowl and serve with South Indian breakfast recipes.
