Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 cup chopped Banana Flower/Aratipuvvu
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 sp Lemon Juice
  • enough Salt

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

 

 

Instructions

Take banana flower and remove the maroon colored petals and take out the yellow florets. Discard translucent outer part of the florets, remove the pistil also. Repeat the same for all the florets. Wash them in fresh water and drain, then chop the florets into small pieces.

After that cook the chopped banana florets along with salt and turmeric powder, once done drain them.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and fry for 30 secs. Then add turmeric powder, cooked and drained banana florets.  

Stir and fry for a couple of mins, then add cooked rice and mix. 

Add enough salt and mix well, finally add lemon juice and mix everything well.

Now tasty and healthy aratipuvvu pulihora/banana flower lemon bath is ready to serve.
