Pappu Chekkalu Recipe / Rice Crackers – How to make Andhra Special Snack Pappu Chekkalu
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- enough Salt
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
- Wash and soak chana dal for 30 mins, once done drain them and keep aside. In a mixing bowl add rice flour, cumin seeds, salt, red chilli powder, soaked chana dal, 2 sp hot oil and mix well. Then add enough water and make into a thick paste. Mix well and divide the dough into small lemon sized balls and set aside.
- Take one dough ball and pat it on a greased plastic paper and make a thin round, do the same with the remaining balls. Heat oil in a pan, when hot drop them carefully and fry until both sides are golden brown in color.Then remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil, repeat the same process with rest of the rounds.
- Now Diwali special snack crispy crispy rice flour pappu chekkalu are ready, once cooled store them in an airtight container.
