- 1 small cup Toor Dal/Kandi Pappu
- 1 small cup chopped Rasa Usiri/Chinna Usiri Mukkalu
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Hing/Inguva
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
Wash rasi usiri/chinna usirikayalu and chop into pieces and keep aside.
Wash toor dal in a bowl and place the chopped rasa usiri, green chillies and pressure cook. After that allow it to cool down for a couple of mins, once done remove the lid and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and fry for 2 secs. Then add the cooked star gooseberry dal mixture with 1/2 cup of water and mix well.
Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and let it cook for a couple of mins on medium flame, then turn off the flame. Now tasty rasa usiri pappu/chinna usiri dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice and roti.
