Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Moong Dal/Pesara Pappu
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 3 Green Chillies cut into lengthwise
  • 2 sp Lemon Juice
  • Salt to taste
For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 pinch Hingh/Inguva
  • few Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

Wash moong dal well, add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles, once cooled remove the lid and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, chopped green chillies and stir-fry for a while.

Then add in cooked moong dal, salt, turmeric powder and 1/2 cup of water. Mix well and let it cook for 2 mins on low flame.

When done turn of the heat, then add lemon juice and mix everything well, don’t add lemon juice while cooking. Now Nimmakaya Pesara Pappu is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with white rice and rotis.
