Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1 small Beetroot
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • enough Salt
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

Wash, peel and chop beetroot into pieces and boil them till they are cooked. Once cooled, blend the cooked beetroot pieces into a smooth puree.

Take a bowl place wheat flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix together, then add in beetroot puree and mix everything well.

Make a soft dough with little water and keep aside with cover for 15 mins. After that knead well and divide into small lemon sized balls and set aside.

Place the dough ball on a flat surface, apply little oil and press it into a medium sized puri, do the same with the remaining dough balls. Meanwhile heat oil in a khadai, when it is hot deep fry the raw puri on both sides until done.

Cook one at a time in hot oil, then remove from the hot oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil, make remaining puris the same way.

Now Beetroot Puris are ready to serve. Serve with curry or chutney.
