Ingredients
- Banana Florets/Arati Puvvu
- 1 small cup Besan/Gram Flour/Senagapindi
- 2 sp Rice Flour
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 sp Garam Masala
- 1 pinch Cooking Soda
- enough Salt
- Water for bajji batter
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
Take the banana flower, remove the maroon colored petals and take out the yellow florets. Discard translucent outer part of the florets, remove the pistil also. Repeat the same for all the florets, wash well and keep aside.
In a mixing bowl mix above ingredients except oil, banana florets and mix well. Then add enough water and make it a thick batter. Now the bajji batter is ready.
Heat oil in a pan when the oil is hot, take two or three banana florets, then dip in the batter and nicely drop them in hot oil.
Fry them till golden color on both sides, then remove from the hot oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat the same with the rest of florets, now arati puvvu bajjilu/banana florets fritters are ready to serve, serve hot with tomato sauce along with a cup of tea/coffee.
