Tamarind Poha Recipe/Flattened Rice Pulihora/Atukula Pulihora–Pulihora Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Thick Poha/Beaten Rice/Atukulu
- small Marble size Tamarind
- 1/2 sp Turmeric Powder
- 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
- 1 sp Jaggery
- Salt to taste
- 1 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1 sp Urad Dal
- 1 sp Chana Dal
- 2 Red Chillies
- 1 pinch Hingh
- fistful Peanuts
- few Curry Leaves
- 3 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash and soak poha for 2 mins and then squeeze extra water from them and set aside. Wash and soak tamarind for half cup of water for 5 mins and then squeeze out the juice and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and fry for a while. Then add turmeric powder, tamarind juice, salt, jaggery to this and bring to a boil.
- Once the tamarind mixture turns thick, then add squeezed poha and mix well until well combined. Now tamarind poha/atukula pulihora is ready to serve. Offer the tamarind poha as naivedyam to Lord Sri Krishna during krishnashtami festival.
