Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • 6 no Carom Leaves/Vamu Aaku/Ajwain Leaves
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 sp Lemon Juice
  • enough Salt

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

 

Instructions

Wash well vaamu aaku/ajwain leaves and chop into pieces. Place cooked rice in a mixing bowl.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and fry for a while.

Then add chopped ajwain leaves, turmeric powder and fry for a couple of mins on low flame.

Now add fried ajwain leaves mixture to the rice bowl and mix along with enough salt. Finally add lemon juice and mix everything well. 

Now healthy ajwain leaves lemon rice/vamu aaku pulioha/carom leaves lemon bath is ready to serve.
